It comes with an ergonomic design with a soft foam cushion. This may seem heavy and bulky but we can assure you that the headset is comfortable and easy to use. The headset has a durable design with large plastic and metal headband which won’t easily move as you play. One look and you can see that Astro is serious about gaming. The A40 comes with a stunning finish that clearly gives users the edge. It is lightweight and comfortable to use even during long hours of online gaming. ![]() Because based on your post, it sounds like if you went with the A50 Wireless Headset, you'll be a little gutted that you couldn't have it in the colour you wanted from the factory. The Astro A40 is a wired gaming headset that gives high-quality gaming audio. If customisation is peaking your interest and you sit close enough where a single headset cable isn't going to be too bothersome, I would grab the ASTRO.ID A40 TR Headset. I too want to see the A50 Wireless and Base Station with more colours or even hit our ASTRO.ID program in the future, but for now, we have nothing to announce. So offering different colour frames is really easy to make that program exist. Apart from the frame, everything can be removed and redesigned as we release new speaker tags or you customise your own through the website. The reason we chose the A40 TR Headset is that it was designed with this in mind. We want to expand the ASTRO.ID program to as many headsets as we can. If you don't need additional features such as daisy-chain ports for LAN tournaments or the stream output, then the wireless feature of the A50 Wireless Headset may look better for your setup. The A50 Wireless and Base Station is basically a near wireless version of the A40 TR Headset and MixAmp Pro TR. Is it possible that Astro.ID will be offered for the A50’s in the near future? Are the A50’s so much better than A40’s that it outweighs the color customization for the A40’s? Are there color offerings for the A50’s I’m not aware of?Any advice would be appreciated! I’d even be very happy with non-customizable color offerings in colors like red (or teal). I’d imagine that Astro would want to attract more people to buying a more expensive headset so it’s a little puzzling to me that they overlooked something like this. It’s very disappointing to me that there is no color choices (that I’m aware of) or customization choices for the A50’s. But I’m worried that I might not like going back to a wired headset, and how that might defeat the whole purpose of “upgrading” my headset. ![]() Non-sticker/skin color offerings on a headset of this quality feels like a huge breath of fresh air. I have become a little fed up with the increasing lack of customization/color choices in many gaming products in recent years and I’m tired of settling for wrapping some shitty skin over my headset, which cheapens the look, especially if it starts to peel. Call me superficial, but the idea of being able to own a high quality gaming headset that comes in a color other than shitty boring black is a huge selling point to me. But on the other hand, the A40’s offer a much better range of aesthetic customization with the Astro.ID. I currently own an Arctis Pro Wireless headset, which was my first wireless headset and I really fell in love with idea of having a wireless gaming headset, a box that the A50’s would check for me. The price difference between them is not a problem for me, but there’s one big issue for me: the lack of aesthetic customization for the A50’s. I’m thinking of getting a new headset and I think the A50/A40 might be the way to go for me.
